Question by The one that likes gardenia…: I want some information about MaineCoon Cats?
My cat passed away little over a month ago, and I feel it is now time for me to start looking for another cat.
A breed I have recently discovered is MaineCoon. I would like some information on the breed.
What their temperament is like, are the affectionate, will they get along with other animals and humans?
Also, how old do they usually live and how big do they usually grow?
sorry about the layoutmy keyboard seems to be playingup.
Answer by Twiztid
I have a Maine coon and he is very shy around people he does not know. He is very affectionate and loves the people around him. He also is very playful around my other two cats, who are domestic short hairs, and he loves string. I foster cats for the Arizona Humane Society and he will sometimes like them and other times not, it just depends on the other cats temperament, he like’s other playful cat’s.
As I said he is playful with his family but is afraid of new people, It takes awhile for him to adjust.
He is about, not including his tail, 1 1/2 feet long and 18 pounds
So far I don’t know how long they live, but mine is 1 1/2 years old and still acts like a kitten. From my research they have a kitten mentality until they are about 5 years old.
